We were driving past the local university (which is not like George Washington University or NYU or any uppity university).

As we were going along going the other way was a black Mercedes which I believe it was an S-Class to me with a Kuwait license plate on the front, but as I looked on the back I saw an Idaho license plate.

Is it normal to have a license plate from two different countries on it? its the first foreign license plate other than Canadian plates that I've ever seen, and canadian plates look a lot like USA plates. but it seemed odd to have a license plate from two different countries. Have you ever seen this happen,

I would have posted a picture but because it was going the other way, I couldn't get one in time.

Yes. In Japan I sometimes see US or European front plates. In the US, it's common to put a JP plate on a JDM style vehicle.

there are no diplomats to my knowledge anywhere in idaho, so how do you even get one in to the US, (it looked pretty much brand new).

It's totally possible, depending on your state's front plate laws. I think it's an interesting alternative to throwing your Alma Mater's logo on your front plate holder.

I've seen people do it with Euro plates on European cars, and JDM plates on Japanese cars, as Kat pointed out.

Of course, it's most likely just a decoration, and not a registered license plate (not anymore, anyway).

in Idaho you have to have a front license plate, i personally don't' like the law, but I didn't see one on the front of this S-Class

Well, I guess he's ABOVE THE LAW.

You said this was near a university? I'll bet he was an international student going to school there. There's a Chinese girl at my university who drives a Maserati GranTurismo...

it could be, but it is a very poor university with very few international students, very few rich people go to this university, I think I've seen a Ferrari 308GTS once, and a Porsche Carrera S are about the only nice cars I've seen in this town.

Outside embassies and such in NYC you can see cars with euro front plates and USA rear ones fairly often.
